Privacy Policy
PersonalityTruth is a psychological self-assessment platform. Your test answers are among the most personal data you can give a website, so this policy explains exactly what we hold, why we hold it, and how you remove it.
Who we are
PersonalityTruth operates this website and is the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at privacy@personalitytruth.com for any request relating to your data.
What we collect
We keep the collection deliberately narrow.
- Account data: your email address, an optional display name, and an encrypted password or a Google sign-in identifier.
- Assessment data: the answers you select in a test, the resulting pattern, and the date you completed it.
- Purchase data: which reports you have unlocked and your subscription status. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers.
- Technical data: basic request logs and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure.
Why we process it
We process account and assessment data to provide the service you asked for, which is the performance of our contract with you. We process purchase data to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We process technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure and functioning website.
Your assessment answers are used to generate your own results. They are not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, and they are not used to train third-party models.
Sensitive data
Assessment answers can reveal information about your mental and emotional life. We treat them with the same care as special category data: they are stored under row-level access rules so that only your own account can read them, and full report content is only released by our servers after an access check.
PersonalityTruth is not a medical service. Nothing here is a diagnosis, and no result is shared with any clinician, employer, or insurer.
How long we keep it
Account and assessment data are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account from the dashboard, your profile, answers, results and unlock records are removed. Purchase records may be retained in anonymised form for the period required by tax law.
Sharing and processors
We use a small number of processors to run the service: a cloud database and authentication provider for storage and sign-in, a payment provider for purchases, and email delivery for account messages. Each processes data only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Our processors may store or process data outside your country. Where this happens, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognised under UK and EU data protection law.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU or another region with comparable law, you have the following rights. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge you for exercising them.
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate, including your display name and email.
- Delete your account and the data attached to it.
- Export your assessment history in a portable format on request.
- Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest.
- Complain to your national supervisory authority, such as the ICO in the UK.
Children
PersonalityTruth is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly create accounts for children, and we delete any such account we become aware of.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy we will show a notice on the site and update the date at the top of this page before the change takes effect.
