Anxiety
Understand it. Test it. Do something about it.
What Is Anxiety?
Anxiety is not just worry. It is a physical and psychological response that evolved to protect us from danger. When it fires in the absence of real danger, during a work presentation, a social interaction, an uncertain email, it becomes the thing that limits rather than protects. Anxiety exists on a spectrum. At one end it is a useful signal. At the other it is a pattern that runs the day before you even notice it has started.
The most misunderstood form is high-functioning anxiety, a version that looks like productivity, competence, and control from the outside while running on a background hum of tension, anticipation, and dread. Most people with high-functioning anxiety are never identified because they function too well to raise concern. This test is designed to find exactly that.

Signs of Anxiety Most People Miss
You function well but never fully switch off
The most common sign of anxiety that goes undetected is the inability to genuinely rest. You may complete everything, meet every deadline, and appear completely fine, while running a constant background process that never pauses.
Rest does not feel restful
Anxiety disrupts the nervous system's ability to downregulate. Even during leisure time, holidays, or weekends, the body stays alert. Rest begins to feel like a waste of time rather than a genuine need.
Physical symptoms with no clear cause
Tension in the jaw or shoulders, disrupted sleep, a tight chest, or a stomach that never quite settles are common physical signatures of chronic anxiety that doctors often cannot find a clear cause for.
You replay conversations after they happen
Anxious minds review interactions for signs of error, rejection, or misunderstanding. A comment made hours ago gets revisited at midnight. This is not perfectionism, it is an anxiety response to social uncertainty.
You over-prepare for most things
Preparation is healthy. Over-preparation, spending three hours on something that needed thirty minutes, is anxiety in disguise. It is the attempt to eliminate uncertainty through effort.
The idea of slowing down feels threatening
When busyness becomes a coping mechanism, stopping feels dangerous. The anxiety that the busyness was managing surfaces the moment the calendar clears. Many high-functioning anxious people have never experienced genuine idle time as adults.
